The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. Biodiversity boosts our ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, have an important role to play.
With the view to support this global initiative and promote better awareness, a group of residents in Diplomatstaden under the auspices of the British Embassy and the English Church launched a fundraising campaign to help pollinators by putting a beehive in Diplomatstaden.

After a successful campaign the hive was placed in the grounds of the English Church, while the project has been extended to develop the whole of the Royal National City Park into a pollinator-friendly zone.
The ADS is proud to support this project and support the UN global goals, members of the Diplomatic community planted a roundabout with wildflowers in Diplomatstaden.

A follow-up of events will happen shortly and we look forward to welcoming members of the Diplomatic community of Stockholm to join the initiative and support pollinators.
